Coital Alignment Technique (CAT ) Posture : cat.jpg

The CAT position is a variant of the missionary position designed to maximize clitoral stimulation during coitus. This is achieved by combining the “riding high” variation of the missionary position with pressure-counter pressure movements performed by each partner in rhythm with coitus. The penetrating partner lies above the receiving partner as in the missionary position, but moves upward along her body, so that the base of his penis provides stimulation to her clitoris. The receiving partner may also wrap her legs around his. Sexual movement is focused in the pelvises, without leverage from the arms or legs. The Rocking upward stroke (receiving partner leads) and downward stroke (penetrating partner leads) of sexual movement builds an electric-like charge that partners let develop and peak naturally.

This doesn’t mean that it works for everyone. It may take a bit of practice.

The Kamasutra of Vatsyayana believed to have been written in the 1st to 6th centuries, has a notorious reputation as a sex manual, although only a small part of its text is devoted to sex. Other ancient sex manuals include the lost works of Elephantis; Ananga Ranga, a 12th century collection of Hindu erotic works; and The perfumed Garden, a 16th century Arabic work by Sheikh Nefzaoui.

The Seventh Posture of The Perfumed Garden (Burton’s translation into English) is an unusual position not described in other classical sex manuals. Though it is not described in other sex manuals, but most of the couples make use of this posture due to advantages. The posture goes like this: The female partner lies on her side. The male partner faces her, straddling the female’s lower leg, and lifts the upper leg onto the crook of male’s elbow or onto the shoulder. While both the legs up, vagina is exposed out and male’s member can enter smoothly. In this posture fast and heavy stroking is not possible, that’s why most of the couples make use of this posture during pregnancy..

Couples can discover new postures during their sexual adventures. This posture too is a common one and I believe, most of the couples use it. Though it is not a very satisfying one but many times it is used., especially during pregnancy. Couples while lying side by side, you can communicate each other and engage in foreplay. In fact couple get engaged in this posture while foreplay lying side by side in the bed. While foreplay is on and both are equally aroused, the male partner place his body between her thighs and legs are positioned as said above, and enters her.
